MEN'S HEALTH AT cedar family practice

A comprehensive medical assessment is also available to our male patients targeting general health concerns and those particularly relevant to men.

This entails the following:

  • Full Medical History including identifying, lifestyle, family and medical risk factors
  • A full examination is undertaken by the doctor including height and weight, blood pressure, heart rate and rhythm
  • Assessment of cardiovascular risk
  • Assessment of Osteoporosis risk (brittle bones)
  • ECG – tracing of the heart
  • Assessment Urinalysis
  • Visual Acuity testing
  • Colour vision test
  • Blood tests including blood count, iron stores, kidney and liver function, bone profile, prostate test – PSA, Thyroid test, cholesterol test, diabetes test, B12 and folate levels.
  • Urinalysis

Further testing can be arranged as deemed necessary by the doctor.

The first group for vaccination are those over 85 yrs (Level 1) and only when this group has been vaccinated can we move to the next group (Level 2) and so on until vaccinations are completed for all groups.
